Chris Smith & Paul Carringer are running again to help change lives in Zimbabwe.  "The needs are great, but we believe there is something we can do!"

This year we are again setting our goals on running

24 hours in the 2011 "Lone Ranger Ultra"

24 Hour Race - A Goat A Mile!

World Vision works with communities in desperate need to help provide two goats each to families in Zimbabwe.  With these goats they will be able to produce their own milk and cheese and eventually produce a new herd so they will have meat and possibly trade for future economic opportunity. These goats will change their lives forever! Each goat cost $75.00, please help their our goal of "1,000 Goats"

Will you make a tax-deductible donation to support our efforts?   Together we can help change lives in Zimbabwe.

We will be running in the Lone Ranger 24 hour Ultra running event. (http://www.20in24.com/lone-ranger-ultra-marathon.html) Our goal is to raise funds and awareness to send goats to families in Zimbabwe affording them the opportunity to feed themselves from the production of milk, cheese and if we can concentrate enough goats into one region, production of meat and trade.

We have already gained the attention of many people organizations and community groups willing to buy goats and send us on our way to our target of 1,000 goats.  Both Paul and I have been pace keepers for many half and full marathons around North America.  Paul has run in over 100 marathons and has a PR of 2:36.  He holds the record for 50km in Ohio where he ran just over three hours and 15 minutes.  Chris has also ran over 100 marathons, 6 Ultras and over 80 triathlons including finishing 5th in the Survivor Half Ironman and representing Australia in The World Ironman in Hawaii and New Zealand.  Last year in the 24 hour race, Chris finished 9th. We have both reached the ripe old age of 54 years so we have headlined the 24 hour run as, "Two Old Goats Leading The Herd"!

Would you consider being a sponsor for this event?  As I mentioned, our goal is to raise significant awareness for the plight of families in Africa that are challenged every day to provide for their families.  Paul and I are providing a way to help by each running for 24 hours with our sponsors, Mizuno Running Shoes backing these two old goats. We intend to make a significant difference in the lives of those in need with our feet. And, on our feet, are Mizuno Running Shoes ...

Just think how your contribution of a goat will help a family to feed themself! You will be helping to save a life...

                                                (Thank You!).

2011 Lone Ranger 24 hour Ultra
Training is well on the way for this years race. Mitzuno is again my shoe sponsor (and a sponsor of choice!) I am running stronger and quicker than last year and feel confident that I will improve on my 9th spot at the finishers line.

Two successful 12 hour races under the belt! Placing in the top 3 at both events with a conservative approach. Looks good so far for the main event!
